BEACON — Drivers will no longer have to put up with construction associated with a project to replace the deck of the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge's north span. As of Friday, the $95 million endeavor was deemed mostly complete by government officials.The New York State Bridge Authority, which oversees the Newburgh-Beacon bridge, celebrated the milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the bridge's eastern end Friday morning. Construction that started in 2020 changed traffic patterns and created some painful congestion on the busy bridge connecting Orange and Dutchess counties.
