Five parts of New York are getting a new anti-violence program that was tested in Newburgh. Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Friday that the program will expand upstate with more than $866,000 of state funding after its success in Newburgh.  It will give police and prosecutors more tools to help solve nonfatal shootings and to prevent retaliatory gun violence. It will fund dedicated teams of police, prosecutors and crime analysts. The governor's office says the initiative helped increase the solve rate of nonfatal shootings in Newburgh.
